This hub is for owners of civil engineering firms who manage a team of professional engineers (PEs) and engineers in training (EITs). Use it to keep staff licenses in good standing, plan for renewals, and check whether your firm has separate registration duties in the states where it works.

Each state and District of Columbia page links to its licensing board and summarizes the renewal cycle and professional development hour (PDH) requirements. Where the board sets ethics hours, the page identifies them. It also covers whether unused hours can carry over and notes firm registration rules. Each page ends with an owner checklist to help you track staff deadlines, records, and board requirements.

How to use the state pages

Start with the board link when you need to confirm a rule or set an internal deadline. Compare the requirements for every state where your PEs practice. A license in one state does not answer questions about renewal or firm registration in another, so track those obligations separately for each jurisdiction.

Each page links to the state board, which has the final word on any rule. Where a detail should be confirmed directly, the page says check with your board. That may apply to the renewal cycle, PDH or ethics hours, carryover, or firm registration.
