Glossary · Term 137

Additional Insured

A party granted certain insured status under another party's policy through policy wording or an endorsement. The scope may be limited by the endorsement and related contract. Additional insured status is common in some construction and general liability arrangements, but does not automatically apply to every policy or claim.

Why it matters for owners

Firms should confirm whether a request is available and appropriate for the relevant coverage before promising it.
