Capacity planning

Capacity planning compares expected project demand with the people, skills, equipment, and time available to deliver it. It includes both near-term assignments and anticipated hiring or subcontracting needs. Forecasts depend on project timing and scope, so they should be updated as awards and schedules change.

Why it matters for owners

Planning capacity can reduce overload and help the firm meet commitments.
