Estimate at Completion (EAC)

A forecast of total project cost at completion, based on actual costs to date and an estimate of remaining work. Organizations may use different formulas and assumptions. It should be updated when scope, productivity, schedule, or risks change and should not be confused with the contract fee.

Why it matters for owners

A current EAC helps leaders spot margin pressure and make timely staffing or scope decisions.
