Structural retrofit

A structural retrofit modifies an existing structure to address a project need, changed use, observed condition, or performance objective. Work may involve strengthening, repair, replacement, or added components. Existing records and site conditions can be incomplete, so investigation and assumptions matter. The scope and design require project-specific evaluation by qualified professionals.

Why it matters for owners

Retrofit work often carries uncertainty in records and access. Proposals should explain investigation allowances, assumptions, and how discoveries are managed.
