Comity Licensure

A process through which an engineer licensed in one jurisdiction applies for licensure in another based on existing qualifications and records. It is sometimes described as reciprocity, though a new jurisdiction may still impose its own requirements. The relevant board determines eligibility and application steps.

Why it matters for owners

Firms serving clients across state lines should plan for individual license timing and jurisdiction specific requirements.
