Change order

A change order is a documented modification to a contract's scope, schedule, compensation, or other terms. It may require approval by the client or another authorized party before changed work proceeds. Contract procedures vary, and a change request is not necessarily an approved change order.

Why it matters for owners

Clear change control helps reduce uncompensated work and project disputes.
